I'll quit politics if Channi govt can produce any proof against Majithia: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Ludhiana, January 25: With the Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissing the anticipatory bail plea of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia in the drugs case, party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday issued a statement saying he would quit the politics if this govt (Congress-led Punjab Government) can produce any proof against Majithia. Addressing a press conference in Ludhiana, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said "everyone responsible for implicating an innocent in a false case would have to face consequences". The next SAD-BSP govt will constitute a judicial commission to investigate all false cases and recommend action against those behind these," tweeted Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia in the drugs case. The SAD leader was booked by the Punjab Police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the SAS Nagar police station on the basis of a 2018 report submitted by the anti-drug Special Task Force (STF).
