Himachal Pradesh: Rains wreak havoc; cloudburst in Dharamshala triggers flood-like situation
Incessant rainfall in Himachal Pradesh wreaked havoc on Monday while a cloudburst was reported in Dharamshala that triggered a flood-like situation in the city.
Due to the heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, the national highway near Jhakri in the Rampur area of Shimla district was blocked.

There has been heavy rainfall for the last few days in the state. The cloudburst in Dharamshala triggered flood-like-situation and even caused damages to the public properties.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh will experience moderate to heavy rains in the coming days as well.
IMD has issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rains in plains and mid-hills on July 12 and 13. Likewise, a yellow alert has been issued for July 14 and 15.
The Met Office in Shimla stated that landslides and uprooting of trees may occur due to heavy rainfall. Thus, the general public and tourists have been warned not to venture near the river banks as the water levels may rise.
The flash flood led to damage to residential houses and roads. Fortunately, there was no report of deaths in the incident.
