PTC Opinion: Do you ever find yourself in a worse situation because of your disturbed sleeping pattern or insomnia? When you desperately want to sleep, you might feel taking a sleeping pill or visiting a sleep consultant.

Walking through the streets of our city, with dull and unhappy face because of disturbed sleep last night and then suddenly, your eyes roll out on the billboard on which “Best Sleep Consultant” has been highlighted with other counselling services written below it but then you ignore and rush to your office building. When you reach office, you browse for reasons behind your sleepless nights, but couldn’t meet your expected outcomes.

What is Sleep Disorder?

Sleeping Disorder or Lack of sleep can make you feel horrible and sick because it has a profound impact on both your physical and mental health. Several Studies indicate that lack of sleep leads to neurological damage in the hippocampus, a part of the brain involved in learning and memory. Lack of sleep makes you feel foggy-headed, forgetful, and mentally drained, contributing to a sense of horribleness. Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to irritability, mood swings, and even depression or anxiety.

Why sleep is important?

Sleep is very important and integral part of our life. Even though we spend one- third of our life asleep as adults, sleep disorders like insomnia and sleep apnoea are very frequent and have a serious negative effect on our health.

Numerous research points to sleep disruption and circadian rhythm disturbance as major contributors to rising rates of diabetes, heart illness, cancer, and brain disorders like stroke and Alzheimer and other disease.

Recommended Sleep Time for every age group

According to the recent study, the data below showcases the age and recommended sleep time:

Four to 12 months - 12 to 16 hours (including naps)

One to two years - 11 to 14 hours (including naps)

Three to five years - 10 to 13 hours (including naps)

Six to 12 years - Nine to 12 hours

13 to 18 years - Eight to 10 hours

18 years and older - Seven or more hours

As per the recent findings, most of the people are afraid of visiting a counselor or consultant for their problems which includes disturbed sleep pattern, depression, anxiety, emotional problems, trauma etc.

It is not easy to share this problem with everyone. Irrefutably, the best solution to overcome the problems is self-therapy and self-practice.

You can get relief while rejuvenating your mind, body, and soul throughout the therapy process. Your body needs your attention amid the hectic schedule and not sleeping has adverse effects on your health.

Sleep is a natural source of energy for your body. Without sufficient rest, you may feel fatigued, lethargic, and physically weak.
