How to protect yourself during an ammonia gas leak?

In the event of an ammonia gas leak, leave the location immediately and seek fresh air. If you suspect you've been exposed, wash any affected skin or eyes with plenty of water and get medical assistance right away.

Cover Your Face: Place a wet towel or cloth over your nose and mouth. This can assist in filtering out some of the ammonia gas, making breathing easier.

Avoid Contact: Avoid touching any surfaces that may have been contaminated with ammonia.

Close the Area: If safe, close the doors to limit the leak and keep the gas from spreading.

Seek Shelter: If you are unable to evacuate, find a room with the least amount of exposure to outside air, seal windows and doors, and fill any gaps with a wet cloth.
