Haryana Police issues health advisory for on-duty cops against Coronavirus

Haryana Police on Wednesday issued an advisory instructing the field units to take immediate action to safeguard on-duty police personnel from potential Coronavirus infection by equipping them with masks, gloves and hand sanitizers, etc. While giving this information, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Navdeep Singh Virk said that all the Commissioners of Police, District Superintendents of Police, Battalion Commandants and other units in charges were asked to make available the masks, gloves and hand sanitizers to the police personnel in the districts as they frequently come in close contact with other persons while being on duty. The police personnel who come in close contact with others during official duties such as frisking, interaction, crowd control, access control, and other traffic duties should be equipped with protective equipment immediately. In addition, they were also advised to maintain personal hygiene to protect themselves from potential infection of Corona Virus, he added.

Coronavirus in India

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday called a meeting with senior officials from the Delhi Government for the management and preparedness of Coronavirus. Apart from the three coronavirus positive cases from Kerala, who have recovered, three more cases have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, one each from Delhi, Telangana and Jaipur. Travel Restrictions

Likewise, the travel restrictions imposed from Tuesday were reviewed and shared with the States. Also, the states have been asked to monitor the airport management in states in coordination with the concerned Airport Public Health Officers (APHOs)and Airport Managers in an order to maintain effective screening.
