Harsh Vardhan says next three months decisive in determining COVID-19 situation in India
Coronavirus Update: Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the next 3 months are going to be decisive in determining the COVID-19 situation in India. He also urged people to follow appropriate behaviour during the coming festival and winter season.
While addressing a review meeting with officials of the Uttar Pradesh government, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that appropriate measures are being taken to fight COVID-19. However, the next three months are going to be decisive in determining the COVID-19 situation in India.

He said if adequate precautions would be taken and appropriate behaviour be maintained in the coming festival and winter season, India would be in a better position to fight coronavirus.
The Union Health Minister also asserted that the state needs to focus on increasing testing, surveillance, contact tracing, and early diagnosis to keep the COVID-19 death rate low.
Giving coronavirus update about Uttar Pradesh, he said that it is important to wear mask/face cover especially in public spaces, and following hand and respiratory etiquette.
The Union Minister further appreciated the efforts made by Uttar Pradesh in vaccinating children who were left out of immunisation due to the contagion disease.
He also said that, currently, Uttar Pradesh is having a COVID-19 death rate of 1.46 which is less than the national average. The recovery rate of the state (92.2 percent) is also more than the national recovery rate while the positivity rate is 3.44 percent.
