Gurdaspur: Exchange of fire between police and gangster
Batala, October 8: During the encounter of gangster Bablu, exchange of fire broke out between Punjab Police and gangster at a village in Punjab’s Gurdaspur. The gangster has been identified as Bablu who was later arrested by the police in exchange of fire. The incident took place on Saturday when the police went to arrest Bablu. According to the police, Bablu was driving a car and his wife and child were along with him in the vehicle. He also had two pistols on him, said the police. Bablu, his wife and child then entered the fields and were chased by the police. "Gangster Ranjot Singh has been arrested. Six cases are registered against him. Police raided his house in the morning but he escaped from there. Police chased him but he opened fire on the police. In firing, he got injured. 2 pistols were recovered from his possession," Satinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Batala, said. The officer informed that no police personnel got injured in the incident.
