Gurdaspur: DC issues warning ahead of water release from Ranjit Sagar Dam
Gurdaspur, August 17: Administration on Wednesday issued a warning for low-lying villages near river Ravi, ahead of water release from Ranjit Sagar Dam. Reportedly, around at 8 am water will be released from the Ranjit Sagar Dam, which will reach the Ravi River in Gurdaspur in about 3 or 4 hours. Therefore, residents of the villages near the Ravi River should refrain from going to the low fields, cautioned the administration.
The Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ishfaq appealed to people of the villages near the Ravi River to avoid going to the low-lying fields/areas near the river.
