Farmers Protest at Singhu border: The situation at Singhu border has tensed after a group of people, claiming to be locals gathered at the border (Delhi-Haryana border) demanding that the area be vacated, resorted to stone pelting on Friday.
Delhi Police baton charged and used tear gas shells to control the situation at the Singhu border where stone pelting took place.
Earlier on Thursday, the group of protestors claiming to be locals had reached the Delhi border demanding the removal of farmers from the protest site. They had threatened to come on Friday as well and they did.
Even as the protesters attacked the langar hall set up for the protesting farmers who have been camping at the Delhi border for over two months.
Heavy police force was deployed at the border but failed as the group of people claiming to be locals rushed to the spot and started vandalising farmers' tents.
After few minutes, police resorted to tear gas shells and lathi charge after which the alleged locals' group left the spot.
Several people are claiming that these are the attempts to provoke farmers and to defame the peasant movement.
