Goa Police register murder case in Sonali Phogat death
Chandigarh, August 23: The Goa Police on Thursday registered a murder case against two persons in the death of BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat. Sonali Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka alleged that his sister was murdered by two of her associates. Earlier, he said the family would allow the postmortem only after the Goa Police registered an FIR against the two persons. In the complaint, Rinku stated that Sonali had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law a few hours before her death and had been complaining about her colleagues. Rinku alleged that Sonali's PA raped her after adding drugs to her meals. "She (Sonali) said Sangwan had given her food laced with some intoxicant, raped her and made a video and was threatening to make the video viral on social media," the police complaint read. The complainant also claimed that Sangwan threatened Sonali of damaging her political and acting career and took into his custody her phones, property records, ATM cards, and house keys. Meanwhile, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said the state was open to ordering a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the murder case of Sonali Phogat, an actor and BJP leader, in Goa. "If that's what the family wants, we will do it." The BJP leader died on August 23 in Goa. As per sources, she had gone to Goa along with some of her staff members. Besides being a political She was BJP leader, Bigg Boss 14 fame star and Tik Tok star Sonali Phogat. She had contested the last Assembly election as BJP candidate from Adampur Assembly constituency against Kuldeep Bishnoi.
