For first time since June 10 last year, Punjab records zero COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours

Punjab Coronavirus Updates: Punjab on Tuesday recorded zero COVID-19 deaths in the 24 hours, according to the state health bulletin. The last time Punjab witnessed zero COVID-19 deaths was on June 10, 2020. Meanwhile, Dr. Rakesh Bhaskar, nodal officer for COVID-19, said that Punjab's COVID-19 fatality rate continued to be the highest in the country at 2.7 percent because of honesty. He said that "we have reported each and every COVID-19 death honestly." Amritsar reported 5 new recoveries while Barnala reported 1, Bathinda 14, Faridkot 1, Ferozepur 11, FG Sahib 1, Gurdaspur 8, Hoshiarpur 6, Jalandhar 10, Ludhiana 7, Mansa 6, Muktsar Sahib 5, Pathankot 3, Patiala 5, Ropar 5, Sangrur 1, and SAS Nagar 4. Coronavirus: Punjab health department identifies 17 hotspots as state's cases rise to 170 Among new cases, Ludhiana reported 6 new cases while FG Sahib, Jalandhar, and Kapurthala recorded 4 new cases each.
