Flipkart partners with Telangana govt for deliveries of medical supplies via drone
India's homegrown e-commerce marketplace Flipkart announced its partnership with the Telangana government for drone deliveries of medical supplies to remote areas under the 'Medicines from the Sky' project.
As part of the 'Medicines from the Sky' project', Flipkart will utilise learnings from its tech-enabled supply chain to deploy drones for deliveries of medical supplies.

It will be complemented with technologies such as geo-mapping, routing of shipments, and track and trace of location among the others, developed by Flipkart over the years in serving millions of customers in India.

Such technologies will be used to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) deliveries in remote areas of Telangana where the road infrastructure was not conducive for the fast delivery of vaccines.
The project is expected to be conducted for over six days. It will be tested for delivering thousands of vaccines in view of the safety and efficiency parameters.
