Finally, BRTS project inaugurated in Amritsar
After skipping several deadlines, Punjab’s first 600-crore bus rapid transit system (BRTS) was inaugurated in Amritsar. Punjab's Local Body Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu inaugurated the BRTS project in Amritsar on Monday.

The BRTS project which was undertaken to decongest Amritsar was launched by former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government in December 2015.

The company handling the project will ply more than 90 buses on 31-km routes. The buses will run from the railway station to Attari bypass, railway station to Golden Gate via bus terminal and to Verka town.

According to information, the government will offer free travel for three months to students and elderly people.
