Farmers protest: Samyukta Kisan Morcha announces further strategies
In an order to intensify farmers' protest, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha on Wednesday announced further strategies that include complete Bharat Bandh across India on March 26. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha while addressing the press conference gave a call for Bharat Bandh on March 26. The day will also complete 4 months of farmers' protest. Likewise, the farmers announced that March 15 will be marked as a day against privatisation and inflation. Similarly, the farmers will celebrate Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh on March 23 at the Delhi borders. Also, the copies of three farm laws will be burnt in effigy (Holika) on the occasion of Holi. The SYM said that the movement will keep going and that it will keep opposing the Central government. Thousands of farmers have been protesting at the various borders of Delhi, including Ghazipur, Tikri and Singhu to protest against farm laws. Farmers have been protesting against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
