The film, directed by Mozez Singh and produced by Sikhya Entertainment, explores the life of India's iconic hip-hop artist and music sensation, Yo Yo Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh.
The documentary offers an intimate look into Honey Singh’s incredible rise in the music industry, his impact on Indian music, and the personal struggles he faced, including his battle with mental health. The producers shared the news with fans on Instagram, alongside a poster of the hip-hop legend, captioning it: “The name you know, the story you don’t. Witness the rise of a legend who changed the face of Indian music forever. Watch Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous on December 20, only on Netflix!”
Produced by Sikhya Entertainment, known for its Oscar-winning works, the docu-film is directed by Mozez Singh with Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain as producers. Editing for the project was handled by Deepa Bhatia, and Raunaq Bajaj serves as the associate producer.
Honey Singh is widely celebrated for hits such as "Brown Rang," "Angrezi Beat," and "Dope Shope", making him a household name in India. However, his career faced a significant setback when he disappeared from the limelight for a couple of years, later revealing that he had been struggling with mental health issues.
