'Got nervous when...': Veteran Punjabi actor Nirmal Rishi receives Padma Shri award
PTC News Desk: Veteran actor Nirmal Rishi, best known for her work in the Punjabi film industry, was honoured with the Padma Shri award on Monday.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Nirmal Rishi at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital.
Nirmal Rishi expressed her happiness and revealed her initial reaction when she learned about her Padma Shri award.
"When I received the first call, I was nervous...I am pleased that I received it...I have done a lot of theatre. Nirmal Rishi said, adding "I have worked in around 100 films..."

Padma Awards, one of the country's highest civilian honours, are presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
President Droupadi Murmu presented 3 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan, and 55 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2024 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I, which was held with grandeur in the Rashtrapati Bhawan's Darbar Hall on Monday.
The Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, many Union Ministers, and other dignitaries attended the event.
