Urmila Matondkar files divorce from Mohsin Akhtar Mir: Reports
PTC News Desk: Actor Urmila Matondkar has officially filed for divorce from businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir, as reported by Hindustan Times. The couple, who were married for eight years, are now parting ways, with sources indicating that Urmila's decision comes after careful consideration. A source close to the couple revealed, "After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn't happening on mutual terms."
Urmila and Mohsin tied the knot on February 4, 2016, in an intimate ceremony held at the actress's residence in Mumbai, which was attended by only a select group of close friends and family members. Their love story began in 2014 when they first met at the wedding of designer Manish Malhotra's niece.
Urmila Matondkar began her career as a child actor in Shekhar Kapur's adaptation of Erich Segal's 1980 novel Man, Woman and Child, which was titled Masoom. Throughout the 1990s, she starred in numerous successful films, earning acclaim for her performances in hits such as Rangeela, Judai, Satya, Mast, Khoobsurat, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot, and Ek Hasina Thi. Although she has been largely absent from the silver screen in recent years, her last appearance was in the 2014 Marathi film Ajoba, along with a special appearance in the song "Bewafa Beauty" from the 2018 film Blackmail.
Mohsin Akhtar Mir, on the other hand, has also made his mark in the industry, being involved in projects like It's A Man's World, Luck By Chance, Mumbai Mast Kallander, and B.A. Pass, among others. As the couple navigates this challenging time, fans and followers are left speculating about the reasons behind their separation.
