Snake venom case: Elvish Yadav sent to 14-day judicial custody after questioning
Snake venom case: Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav has been sent to 14-day judicial custody after Noida police arrested him in the snake venom-rave party case.
Following the arrest, DCP Noida Vidya Sagar Mishra said "A case under Wild Life Protection Act-1972, was filed (against Elvish Yadav and others). Today he was called for interrogation and was produced before the court by enhancing the sections of the NDPS Act in the said case."
Last year, he and five others were charged with violating the Wildlife Act by arranging for the use of snake venom as a recreational drug at rave parties.
On November 3, last year, the police raided a banquet hall in Noida's sector 51, arresting five people, four of whom were snake charmers, and recovering nine snakes and poison. Aside from rave parties, Yadav allegedly used snakes for video shoots.
Six people, including YouTuber Elvish Yadav, were charged under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly supplying snake venom to a party in Noida's Sector 51 as part of Maneka Gandhi's People for Animals sting operation.
The other five were arrested, and Elvish's involvement in the rave party and the buying of snakes for such events was being investigated.
