PTC Web Desk: Salman Khan's much-anticipated film 'Sikandar' hit theaters on March 30. Despite the pre-release buzz, the film is failing to impress audiences due to its storyline and plot execution. As a result, several screenings have been cancelled, with many theaters replacing Sikandar with Mohanlal's 'L2: Empuraan'.

According to a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, 'Sikandar' has been pulled from theaters in cities like Surat, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, and Indore.

In South Mumbai’s INOX Nariman Point, the 8 pm slot is now occupied by John Abraham’s 'Diplomat'. Similarly, Metro INOX has replaced Sikandar’s 8.30 pm screening with Diplomat.

Sikandar had a strong start at the box office, collecting Rs 26 crore on its opening day, benefiting from its Sunday release. The film saw a further boost on Eid, earning Rs 29 crore on its second day. However, collections dropped on the third day, with earnings of Rs 19.5 crore. As of now, the film's total box office collection stands at Rs 74.5 crore.

Directed by AR  Murugadoss, known for his hit film 'Ghajini', 'Sikandar' stars Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The film also features Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar in key roles.

The story revolves around Sanjay, a powerful figure in Rajkot, who takes on the son of a minister, leading to a dangerous rivalry. In this battle for revenge, Sanjay suffers a tragic loss—his wife, Sai Shree.

Despite its grand scale and star-studded cast, 'Sikandar' is struggling to maintain its hold in cinemas, with many screens opting for alternative films.
