Salman Khan got threats from 'underworld' in 1990s: Somy Ali
PTC News Desk: Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Somy Ali shared a sensational story of a threatening call from the underworld to the Bollywood star in the 1990s when she was in a relationship with him.
Somy Ali spoke exclusively to IANS about her days with Salman Khan, her time in Bollywood, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and more.
When asked if she witnessed or heard any discussions about Dawood Ibrahim and his ties to the film industry during her relationship with Salman in the 1990s, Somy responded, "I heard multiple conversations about him, but nobody took Dawood's name directly, nor did anyone speak about Chota Shakeel. People used to refer to them as the "underworld."
Somy added, "Divya Bharti was my best friend. We became quite close while shooting 'Andolan' in Bengaluru. I asked Divya what the underworld was. Divya asked, 'Do you know what mafia is?' I responded, 'Yes, there is an Italian mafia in America.' Divya said the underworld and mafia are similar."
Some also mentioned a threatening call to Salman Khan on their landline.
"I lived with Salman in his Galaxy apartment for three years," she stated, adding, "Once, I received a call on the landline in our bedroom. The person on the other end threatened to abduct me, saying, 'Salman ko bol dena, Somy Ali ko hum utha kar le jayenge (Tell Salman that we will abduct Somy Ali).'"
Somy went on, "When I told Salman about this, he panicked but managed the situation. However, he never revealed how he 'managed' it."
She was then asked if she ever tried to figure out who it was from the underworld that had called the actor, Somy answered, "I asked Salman two to three times about this, but he said, 'It's better that you don't know about these things.'"
Somy also stated that Salman Khan kept her away from such situations because he knew she was naive.
