'Pushpa 2' smashes box office records with Rs 1,302 crore collection worldwide, beats 'KGF Chapter 2'
PTC Web Desk: 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', directed by Sukumar, continues its phenomenal run at the global box office. Released on December 5, the film has now amassed a staggering Rs 1302.60 crore worldwide by the end of its second Monday, breaking several records along the way. The sequel to the 2021 hit 'Pushpa: The Rise', starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has surpassed the lifetime earnings of 'KGF Chapter 2' and 'Jawan'.
Pushpa 2 Beats KGF Chapter 2
According to the latest data from Sacnilk, Pushpa 2’s 11-day haul of Rs 1302.60 crore has overtaken Yash's KGF Chapter 2, which earned Rs 1,215 crore globally. Earlier, the film also surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'. The next target for 'Pushpa 2' is SS Rajamouli's 'RRR', which holds a record collection of Rs 1309 crore.
Domestically, the movie has raked in Rs 902 crore at the Indian box office. It also became the first Hindi film to cross Rs 100 crore in its second weekend, cementing its status as one of the biggest box-office hits in recent history.
Despite the film’s success, lead actor Allu Arjun found himself embroiled in controversy. On Friday, he was arrested in connection with the tragic death of a fan during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2'. The actor was released from custody on Saturday, after which several celebrities visited him at his residence. In a statement released on Sunday, Arjun expressed his concern for the injured fan, Sri Tej, who remains under medical care. He also revealed that his legal team has advised him against meeting the fan's family at this time.
