Paresh Rawal, Adil Hussain-starrer 'The Storyteller' to open London Indian Film Festival; read more
London Indian Film Festival 2023: 'The Storyteller', starring Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain, will this year open the London Indian Film Festival at BFI Southbank, London, on June 22. Based on a short story 'Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro', the film is by Satyajit Ray. The festival will conclude on June 29.
Earlier, the film 'The Storyteller' had represented India at the Busan Film Festival, International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) and the International Film Festival of India. Other star cast include Tannishtha Chatterjee, Jayesh More and Revathy.
Director Ananth Mahadevan shared, "'The Storyteller' that has already been acclaimed at Busan, Palm Springs, IFFI and IFFK has emerged as a befitting tribute to the master Satyajit Ray on the occasion of his birth centenary."
The tale
'The Storyteller' follows the story of a wealthy businessman. He hires a storyteller to get over his insomnia. The original Bengali short story 'Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro' is based on the enigmatic character Tarini Khuro.
