Oceaniek Stream: Family-friendly OTT entertainment unveiled in Chandigarh

Oceaniek Stream launch: Chandigarh’s Hyatt Regency recently played host to the grand launch of Oceaniek Stream, a new OTT platform by Oceaniek International. The event, marked by the unveiling of the platform’s logo, also witnessed the premiere of its much-anticipated original series, ‘Wedding India’, a vibrant tribute to India’s rich wedding traditions.

Prominent Bollywood and Pollywood personalities were present on the occasion, who celebrated the arrival of a digital platform committed to quality and family-friendly entertainment. Since many existing OTT services have faced criticism for controversial and explicit content of late, Oceaniek Stream aims to break the mold by offering a refreshing mix of infotainment suitable for all age groups.

Speaking at the event, producer of 'Wedding India' Jaspreet Preeti Shahid highlighted the platform’s diverse content library, which includes Bollywood, Hollywood, Korean, and Japanese entertainment, available in 48 countries. "Our mission is to redefine digital entertainment by curating culturally rich, engaging stories that families can enjoy together," she said.

She further emphasised Oceaniek Stream’s ethical content strategy, saying, "OTT platforms are increasingly flooded with unfiltered material. We want to change that by delivering meaningful, enriching entertainment that leaves a lasting impact."

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was ‘Wedding India’, an ambitious series directed by Rohit Kumar. Spanning 150 episodes, the show will explore wedding traditions across all 29 Indian states, with each region covered in six episodes. The series promises to showcase unique rituals, heartfelt stories, and cultural grandeur from different parts of the country.

Actor Jimmy Sharma, who hosts the series, also revealed an exciting feature of Oceaniek Stream—monetised user-generated content. "Creators can now upload reels and short videos on the platform and earn directly from them," he announced, opening new doors for digital creators.

Actors Kanwalpreet Singh and Suvinderpal Vicky praised Oceaniek Stream for offering fresh opportunities to artists, calling OTT platforms the new-age “big banner” films.

Beyond entertainment, the platform also introduced ‘Invest Oceaniek’, a funding initiative aimed at supporting entrepreneurs with groundbreaking ideas. This move reflects Oceaniek Stream’s broader vision of empowering creators, fostering innovation, and delivering compelling storytelling.
