PTC News Desk: Nita Ambani, an International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, and industrialist Mukesh Ambani met French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Saturday.

Nita Ambani and her husband attended the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics earlier on Friday.

Earlier this week, Nita Ambani was re-elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). She won the 142nd IOC session with a unanimous vote of 100%.

Nita Ambani expressed gratitude after her re-election, saying she was "deeply honoured to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee."

"I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me. This re-election is not just a personal milestone but also a recognition of India's growing influence in the global sporting arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic Movement in India and around the world," she stated.

Nita Ambani was first elected to the distinguished body in 2016, during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Since then, Nita Ambani, India's first woman to join the IOC, has made significant contributions to the body while also advocating India's athletic objectives and Olympic vision. This includes hosting the first IOC session in Mumbai in almost 40 years, in October 2023, which was welcomed as showing India's new, ambitious face to the world.
