Alia, who has been busy promoting the movie, is gearing up for an appearance on the first episode of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' alongside the film's producer, Karan Johar, and her co-star Vedang Raina. The episode is set to air on September 21, and Netflix recently dropped the promo, offering a glimpse of what’s in store.
In the promo, host Kapil Sharma humorously asked Karan Johar what role Alia Bhatt plays in his life: “Is she a friend, a daughter, or a phoopi (aunt)?" In response, Karan Johar, who is a doting father to twins Yash and Roohi, tenderly kissed Alia’s forehead and said, "For me, she is my first daughter." His affection for Alia is well-known in the industry, as he has mentored her since her debut in 'Student of the Year'.
Karan also shared a light-hearted moment about his personal life, joking that while he has helped many people in their relationships, he remains single. Alia chimed in, wanting to reveal something special about Karan. She mentioned his strong sixth sense, recounting the time when she and Ranbir Kapoor became friends. Before she could finish, Karan playfully interrupted, teasing her about how their "friendship" blossomed.
The promo also showcased Karan’s humorous side as he revealed how he is a part of two 'mommies groups'. Each morning, the group members send each other "good morning ladies" messages, and Karan shared how he frequently reminds them that he’s part of the group too, even though he isn’t a "lady."
The promo ended on a playful note when Kapil Sharma, in his trademark style, teased Alia about Ranbir Kapoor. He told her with a serious tone, “I want to tell you something today. There was a girl in Ranbir's life..." Alia, appearing intrigued, responded, “Are you going to call her here on the show?" The light-hearted moment had everyone in splits when Sunil Grover, dressed as his iconic character Dafli in a saree, hilariously walked towards Alia.
