Director Sanoj Kumar Mishra, who offered role to Kumbh viral girl Monalisa, held on sexual assault charge
PTC Web Desk: The Delhi Police have arrested film director Sanoj Kumar Mishra in connection with a sexual assault case after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Delhi High Court. Mishra, who had earlier offered a film role to viral Maha Kumbh Mela girl Monalisa, was taken into custody following the investigation.
The complainant, a 28-year-old woman, stated that she first connected with Mishra via TikTok and Instagram in 2020 while living in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. She alleged that he manipulated her into meeting him by threatening suicide.
On June 18, 2021, Sanoj Kumar Mishra reportedly took her to a resort, drugged her, and sexually assaulted her. He then allegedly took objectionable photos and videos of her, using them to blackmail her into a relationship.
According to the woman, Mishra lured her with false promises of marriage and film opportunities, leading her into a live-in relationship in Mumbai. During this period, he allegedly assaulted her multiple times and forced her to undergo three abortions.
In February 2025, Mishra allegedly abandoned her and threatened to leak her private photos and videos if she took legal action against him.
Following the woman's complaint, an FIR was registered under charges of sexual assault, physical assault, causing miscarriage, and criminal intimidation. She recorded her statement under Section 164 CrPC, supporting her allegations. Investigators also obtained medical records from Muzaffarnagar, confirming forced abortions.
Sanoj Kumar Mishra (45) is married and resides in Mumbai with his family.
