'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3': Vidya Balan returns to 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise
'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3': Vidya Balan, who played Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', is returning to the franchise.
On Monday, actor Kartik Aaryan, who starred in the second instalment and will reprise his role in the third, welcomed Vidya aboard.
"And its happening. Og Manjulika is coming back to the world of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Super thrilled to welcome @balanvidya. This Diwali is going to be crackling #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 @aneesbazmee @tseries.official #BhushanKumar," he said.
Kartik also released an edited video featuring Vidya's iconic visuals as Manjulika from the first instalment combined with visuals of Kartik from the second.
The update has sparked excitement among fans.
"Wow...it will be a treat for sure," a social media user commented, while another said, "Finally, the OG."
Anees Bazmee, who directed the second part, will direct the third as well. The first part was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Akshay Kumar alongside Vidya.
Kartik appeared alongside Tabu and Kiara Advani in the second instalment.
On expanding the franchise, producer Bhushan Kumar stated, "The 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise holds a special place in our hearts, and I'm very happy to be taking it forward with a creative mind like Anees and an incredible talent like Kartik. Together, we are set to deliver a cinematic experience that will both honour the legacy of the franchise and bring double the laughter and thrill for the audience."
'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' will be released on Diwali.
