'Barbie' controversy : It’s time to sing ‘I’m a Barbie girl in the Barbie world’ as Greta Gerwig’s film ‘Barbie’, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling has notched several other box office records, including the biggest opening weekend of the year — besting 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

One week to release of ‘Barbie’ movie and the film earned million USD, is still spreading its pink magic across the world.


The movie was released on July 21 in the theatres. It’s been a week and the ‘Barbie’ fever is still high. 

Why 'Barbie' movie is being criticised?

While Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' film set several box office records, it faced scrutiny from some who believed that it portrays anti-man feminism

The reason behind criticism is the obscenity showed in the movie which is not appropriate for all the age groups, some are saying that the movie is reflecting an intolerable attitude towards LGBTQ content. 

Personalities who slam 'Barbie' movie 

Elon Musk: Where many people were enjoying the ‘Barbenheimer’ week, it seems like Tesla CEO Elon Musk also did not like the film. He recently took to Twitter and slammed the film, "It you take a shot every time Barbie says the word ‘patriarchy’, you will pass out before the movie ends.”


Juhi Parmar: Indian TV actor Juhi Parmar also recently took a dig at the Barbie movie.

In an Instagram post, the 'Kumkum' star talked about how shocked she was by the film’s ‘inappropriate language and sexual connotations’ and had to walk out after 10-15 minutes.

As per Juhi, a lot of parents followed suit as she accused the makers of misleading the audience.

Mira Rajput: Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput also expressed her opinion on the movie Barbie by saying that the songs and dance sequences in the film are not comparable with the art of bollywood. 

Adding to this she also wrote, “Hollywood this, Hollywood that. Well, Hollywood can’t do song-and-dance like Bollywood can!” 

 Ben Shapiro: The anti LGBTQ political pundit Ben Shapiro also expressed his review on the movie. The commentator got disappointed after watching the movie and said it the ‘cringiest’ movie of the summer.
