'I'm safe, my people are safe... Your support means everything': AP Dhillon issues statement after shooting incident

AP Dhillon firing news: A day after shots were fired outside the Vancouver residence of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon on Victoria Island, the singer assured his fans on Monday that he is safe. The incident has reportedly been claimed by Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

In a statement shared on Instagram, AP Dhillon expressed his gratitude, saying, "I'm safe, my people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. Your support means everything."

Circulating online is a purported post where Rohit Godara claims responsibility for the shootings at two locations in Canada—Victoria Island and Woodbridge, Toronto. According to the post, the shooting outside the singer's house was allegedly in response to Dhillon featuring actor Salman Khan in a music video. The post also includes death threats directed at the singer, supposedly from someone affiliated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

AP Dhillon is celebrated for his unique blend of 80s-style synth-pop with Punjabi music, with hit tracks like "Brown Munde," "Excuses," "Summer High," "With You," "Dil Nu," and "Insane," contributing to his rapid rise on the global music scene.

This isn't the first time such threats have surfaced. In November of last year, Lawrence Bishnoi also claimed responsibility for a purported shooting at the home of singer Gippy Grewal in Canada’s White Rock neighborhood in Vancouver.

In a related incident in April, two men on motorcycles opened fire outside Salman Khan's residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The Mumbai police subsequently named jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as "wanted accused" in connection with the attack.
