Amitabh Bachchan confesses he skipped India vs South Africa T20 2024 final; here's why
PTC Web Desk: Actor Amitabh Bachchan joined the chorus of congratulations for Team India, who defeated South Africa to win their second ICC T20 World Cup title on Saturday. However, the legendary actor admitted that he didn't see the thrilling match.
Amitabh posted an explanation on his blog early Sunday.
"WORLD CHAMPIONS… INDIA!!! T20 WORLD CUP 2024. The excitement and emotions and the apprehension... ALL DONE and over... the TV was not seen... we lose when I do! Nothing more enters the cerebrum... just the tears in tune with the tears of the TEAM!" he wrote.
The actor, taking to X, said, "T 5057 - Tears flowing down .. in unison with those that TEAM INDIA sheds ..WORLD CHAMPIONS INDIA. Bharat Maata ki jay (Hail India). Jai Hind Jai Hind Jai Hind."
On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan recently portrayed the character Ashwatthama in 'Kalki 2898 AD'. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin. This post-apocalyptic film is inspired by Hindu scriptures and takes place in the futuristic setting of 2898 AD.
Alongside Bachchan, the stellar cast includes Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur make cameo appearances in the film.
