Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh reunite for 'Jigra' after 'Ikk Kudi'—fans buzz over new teaser photo
PTC News Desk: Actor Alia Bhatt and singer Diljit Dosanjh are reuniting for the film Jigra, marking their first collaboration since their work together on the 2016 hit song "Ikk Kudi" from the movie Udta Punjab. The announcement came with a teaser posted by Alia Bhatt on Instagram, where she shared a photo with Diljit Dosanjh that has set fans abuzz.
In the Instagram post, Alia and Diljit are seen sitting on chairs with their backs turned to the camera. The word "JIGRA" is prominently displayed in front of them. Diljit's chair is marked with the phrase "Sings about kudi (girl)," while Alia's chair reads "the said kudi." Diljit faces sideways towards Alia, who looks straight ahead, adding an element of intrigue to the teaser.
Alia captioned the post, "Chairs say it all (studio microphone emoji) @diljitdosanjh," fueling excitement among fans. Reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. Alia and Diljit previously collaborated on the track "Ikk Kudi (Club Mix)" for Udta Punjab, a critically acclaimed film directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Udta Punjab is known for its hard-hitting narrative on drug abuse in Punjab and features a stellar cast including Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
Jigra is set to be a drama centered around the relationship between a brother and sister. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film stars Alia Bhatt alongside Vedang Raina, Manoj Pahwa, and Rahul Ravindran. Fans can look forward to its theatrical release on October 11.
