Electricity Crisis: SAD-BSP hold protest against Punjab govt using hand fans
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are protesting against the Punjab government over the electricity crisis and power cuts in the state. The Punjab government has failed to provide eight hours of power to the agriculture sector and hence, the Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party have been protesting in front of the grids and chanting slogans against the state government. Also Read | In another setback for common man, Amul increases price of milk The SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema said that this pro-people campaign has been launched amidst power cuts in Punjab to create awareness among the people. Cheema said that this pro-service service would be provided in different areas of the constituency. He also gave the green signal to a vehicle with hand fans which would distribute the fans in different villages of the constituency. He said that the people of the state which had been given power surplus by the Shiromani Akali Dal were starving for power and were forced to stage dharnas while the state government was busy with royal festivities. Meanwhile, Punjab CM appealed to government offices to make judicious use of electricity, adding that the situation was dire as the peak demand in the state had touched a whopping 14500 MW. -PTC News
