Elections 2022: BJP to finalise names of remaining candidates in Punjab, UP and Manipur
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday will finalise the names of remaining candidates for crucial Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur and Punjab at the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting.
The CEC meeting will begin at around 11.30 am on January 25 at the party headquarters in Delhi. So far, the party has announced 194 candidates for Uttar Pradesh and 34 candidates for Punjab. But, no list of candidates has been released for Manipur yet.
The assembly elections in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur will be held in seven phases, with UP going to the polls first on February 10.

The first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 10, followed by the second phase on February 14, third on February 20, fourth on February 23, fifth on February 27, the sixth on March 3 and the seventh phase on March 7.
On February 27 and March 3, Manipur voters will go to the polls in two phases, while Uttarakhand and Goa voters will go to the polls on February 14, and Punjab voters will go to the polls on February 20.
On March 10, counting of votes will be done in all five poll-bound states.
