Amritsar, September 17: A Punjab Police team headed by ADGP Dr Naresh Arora and other top police officers conducted a search operation in the Maqboolpura area which has gained a "reputation" of being home to a sizable number of drug addicts. The massive search operation comes days after a video of a newly-married girl allegedly under the influence of drugs went viral on social media. The video had led to a major embarrassment for the local police after which the ADGP visited several flats in the area and stayed there for almost three hours. The entire area was cordoned off with approximately 15 checkpoints. 450 officers were dispatched during the search operation.
