Dr Ashwani Kumar decorated with Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun by Japan
Dr. Ashwani Kumar, an eminent lawyer, author and former union cabinet minister was on Tuesday conferred the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun by His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, in recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting friendship between India and Japan. Dr. Kumar has also contributed to the promotion of India-Japan relations in the field of science and technology as a council Member of the STS Forum. The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun is the highest category of decoration among the Orders of the Rising Sun conferred by the Government of Japan in recognition of outstanding accomplishments. The Presentation Ceremony was held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on 9 May 20I7. — PTC News
