No proposal to carry out deduction in salaries: Central government
The Centre on Monday said that there was no proposal for a salary cut for the Central government employees. While rejecting some media reports in this regard, the government requested the employees to ignore the "fake" news.
Minister of States for Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Jitendra Singh took to Twitter and wrote “Please ignore the FAKE NEWS being circulated in a section of media. There is no proposal by the Government to carry out deduction in the salary of its employees."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance also clarified that there was no such proposal. Due to the slowdown in the economy in the wake of the coronavirus restrictions, the increase in the Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to its pensioners have been halted till June 2021.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday during a video conference with all the Chief Ministers said that "I am of the firm view that the measures needed in the first phase of lockdown were not needed during the 2nd phase and similarly the measures needed in the 3rd Phase are not needed in the fourth."

He also said that "Even as we look at the gradual withdrawal of the lockdown, we should constantly remember that till we do not find a vaccine or a solution, the biggest weapon with us to the fight the virus is social distancing." PM Modi reaffirmed the importance of 'Do Gaz Ki doori' and added that suggestion of night curfew raised by many CMs would surely reaffirm the feeling of caution among people.
