Delhi to host big shopping festival in Jan-Feb 2023; visitors from across world invited: Kejriwal
New Delhi, July 6: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that Delhi will host a mega shopping Festival from January 28 to February 26, 2023, the first of its kind in the country.
According to the Chief Minister, people from all over the country and the world will be invited to the shopping festival. The event is intended to boost the city's economy and provide a big chance for business owners to extend their reach.
"A 30-day Delhi Shopping Festival will be organised from January 28 to February 26 (in 2023). This will be the biggest shopping festival in India. We are starting it now. I expect that in a few years, we will make it the biggest shopping festival in the world. People from across the country and the globe will be invited to experience Delhi and its culture," Kejriwal said on Wednesday.
"Through this festival, Delhi's economy will receive a major boost. It'll be a huge opportunity for Delhi's businessmen, an opportunity for them to increase their business. It'll be a huge opportunity to present Delhi on an international level. It'll generate thousands of jobs," the Chief Minister added.

Elaborating on the government's plans to organise the festival, Kejriwal further said that it will have something for every section of the society, providing an "unparallel shopping experience" to the customers.
"It will have lots for the youth and the families, kids and the old-age ones. It will have an unparallel shopping experience during this festival. Heavy discounts will be provided. Entire Delhi including the shops and malls would be decorated," he added.
"It will also have exhibitions on spirituality, games, and wellness. A lot of programmes for entertainment will be organised. Top artists from the country and the world would be invited. 200 concerts of entertainment would be organized in one month. There will be special opening and closing ceremonies. Food belonging to every culture of India would be available," Kejriwal stated.
The Shopping Festival was announced as part of the Delhi government's 'Rozgaar Budget.'
