Delhi Police arrest AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan

New Delhi, May 12: Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan. According to sources, an FIR has been registered against him. Earlier in the day, the AAP MLA was detained by Delhi police at Madanpur Khadar, where SDMC was conducting an anti-encroachment drive. Protests erupted in the area after the AAP MLA accused municipal corporation officials of demolishing the houses of the poor. Khan along with his supporters was seen in Madanpur Khadar as he protested the action by the civic body. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) took action in Madanpur Khadar and Dhirsen Marg, while the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) took action in Rohini and Karol Bagh. AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan arrived in Kanchan Kunj in Madanpur Khadar and joined supporters and villagers in protesting the drive, with some chanting anti-BJP slogans.
