Delhi-Leh bound flight makes emergency landing in Amritsar due to bad weather; passengers stage protest
Amritsar, September 18: A Delhi-Leh flight made an emergency landing at Amritsar airport due to bad weather and then returned to Delhi airport without informing the passengers. Meanwhile, SpiceJet’s spokesperson said that the aircraft was diverted to Delhi as the “weather was not conducive" for operations at Leh. However, the passengers claimed that they were not informed about it and staged a protest at the airport. As the weather was not conducive for operations at Leh the flight was diverted back to Delhi from Amritsar," the spokesperson said, adding, “No medical emergency or medical issue was reported for this flight.” Also Read | India's forex reserves hit lowest level in two years, drop by $2.23 bn Meanwhile, SpiceJet flight SG 123 landed at Delhi airport late on Saturday night but as soon as it landed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport, passengers staged a dharna on the runway.
