On February 6, only a day after his 37th birthday, the GOAT accomplished the record. When he got over 230 million followers on Instagram in September 2021, he became the most followed person on the platform. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner amassed over 170 million followers in just six months.
'Life is a roller coaster. Hard work, high speed, urgent goals, demanding expectations… But in the end, it all comes down to family, love, honesty, friendship, values that make it all worth it. Thanks for all the messages! 37 and counting!', he wrote on Instagram while celebrating his birthday with his wife and thanking his die hard fans and other celebrities.
CR7 sets a benchmark by leaving behind the most-followed people on Instagram. Kylie Jenner is second in the rankings with over 308 million followers, while Lionel Messi is third with 306 million followers.
