Covid-19: India logs 12,249 new cases, 13 deaths in 24 hours
New Delhi, June 22: India recorded 12,249 fresh cases of Covid-19, along with 13 deaths in the past 24 hours, informed the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.
According to the data shared by the ministry, India saw 9,862 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate to around 98.61 percent. With this, the total recoveries number reached 4,27,25,055.
With the newly registered coronavirus cases, the total active caseload in India has risen to 81,687, the health ministry data showed.
On Tuesday, the active cases in the country were 79,313.

In the last 24 hours, there has been an increase of 2,374 cases in the active Covid-19 caseload. The active cases account for 0.18 percent of the total infections, the ministry said on Wednesday.
The total death toll in the country is now at 5,24,903, while the daily positivity rate has been recorded at 3.94 percent.
Up to June 21 of this year, 85,88,36,977 samples had been tested for covid-19, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). On Tuesday, 3,10,623 of these samples were tested.
