Coronavirus: We will have a vaccine by the end of year, says Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump on Sunday expressed confidence that a vaccine for the novel coronavirus could be available by the end of the year. "I think we'll have a vaccine by the end of the year," Trump said at a Fox News virtual town hall. "We'll have a vaccine much sooner rather than later." According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, the total number of coronavirus cases in the US has increased to 11,57,687 while the death toll stands at 67,674. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases across the globe has crossed 3.5 million while the fatalities related to the deadly virus have climbed up to 247,306. The search for coronavirus vaccine has already been intensified across the globe. Also, the European Union has pledged to set up an international medical program to lead the global response to fight coronavirus with an initial pledge of raising USD 8 billion to find a COVID-19 vaccine and a treatment for the pandemic. In Britain, the clinical trials of potential COVID-19 vaccine developed by scientists at Oxford University's Jenner Institute have begun. Meanwhile, In the United States, at least 115 vaccine projects are in progress in laboratories at companies and research labs, according to a report of Washington Post.
