Coronavirus: US records 4,591 deaths in the last 24 hours
The US witnessed a record number of 4,591 deaths in the last 24 hours due to the novel coronavirus, the highest number of coronavirus deaths in the world. As per the report, by 8 pm on Thursday, as many as 4,591 people died in the last 24 hours in the US. Earlier, the highest was 2,569 on Wednesday. More than 662,000 people have been tested positive for the coronavirus in the United States, by Thursday. Coronavirus which was originated in Wuhan city in China in December last year has so far claimed more than 144,000 lives and infected over 2.1 million people across the globe. Coronavirus has infected over 671,000 people and claimed over 33,000 lives in the United States, the highest for any country in the world. New York City and its adjoining areas, including New Jersey and Connecticut, have now emerged as the epicenter of the coronavirus in the US. New York has reported 226,000 cases and 16,106 deaths. New Jersey recorded 3,518 fatalities while 75,317 people have tested positive for the pandemic.
