Coronavirus Update: India logs 50,407 new Covid-19 cases, positivity rate at 3.48 %
New Delhi, February 12: India reported 50,407 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.
With this, the active caseload of the country now stands at 6,10,443, which accounts for 1.43 percent of the total Covid cases. The daily positivity rate in India is recorded at 3.48 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is at 5.07 percent.
According to the health ministry's coronavirus update, a total of 1,36,962 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. Now, the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic is now at 4,14,68,120.
Meanwhile, India's recovery rate stands at 97.37 percent and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

India reported 804 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid deaths to 5,07,981.
According to ministry data, 74.93 crore tests have been conducted across India so far, with 14,50,532 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
A total of 1,72,29,47,688 vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far as part of a nationwide vaccination effort, according to the government.
Meanwhile, the national capital reported 977 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, which is the lowest since December 29.12 more deaths were recorded in Delhi, while the positivity rate dropped to 1.73 percent.
With this, Delhi's case count increased to 18,49,596 and the death count mounted to 26,047.
As the number of daily coronavirus cases sees a downward trend, as per the government's update, several states and UTs in the country are easing the curbs imposed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday lifted all Covid-19 curbs, except night curfew. UP government has also announced the reopening of schools for all classes in the state.
