Patiala count rises to 61 as Rajpura reports 6 new Covid-19 cases
Six more positive cases of coronavirus have been reported from Rajpura town in Patiala district on Saturday, the Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra said. Rajpura has now become a major cause of concern for the authorities as the coronavirus tally in that area alone now stands at 42. Meanwhile, the details of the 6 new cases in Rajpura is yet to be declared. Reportedly, the authorities have blamed on hookah parties, for the hike in cases in the area, which were being held despite the curfew orders. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in the district has increased to 61, the third-highest in the state after Mohali and Jalandhar, which have reported 63 cases each. Likewise, the Punjab tally has crossed 300. As per the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Friday evening, the total number of coronavirus cases was 298. After Pathankot reported a new case and counting 6 new cases of coronavirus from Patiala, the state tally rises to 305. Meanwhile, KBS Sidhu on Friday cracked down on a rumour that Patiala Senior Deputy Mayor, Yogendra Yogi who had tested positive for COVID-19 and who has been put under home quarantine was seen distributing ration to locals.
