Coronavirus: Punjab reports highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases

Second wave of coronavirus: The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 2,76,223 after reporting the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, on Monday evening. Amid the second wave of coronavirus, Punjab reported 3,477 new COVID-19 cases, according to the health bulletin issued on Monday evening. Among the new cases, Ludhiana reported 523 new cases, Jalandhar 366, SAS Nagar 662, Patiala 281, Amritsar 305, Hoshiarpur 172, Bathinda 214, Gurdaspur 124, Kapurthala 113, SBS Nagar 49, Pathankot 70, Sangrur 65, Ferozepur 91, Ropar 95, Faridkot 52, Fazilka 79, Muktsar 65, FG Sahib 42, Tarn Taran 9, Moga 37, Mansa 57 and Barnala 6. Likewise, Punjab reported 3407 new recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,40,798, the Punjab health bulletin stated giving coronavirus updates. Of new recoveries, Ludhiana recorded 571, Jalandhar 399, SAS Nagar 414, Patiala 231, Amritsar 280, Hoshiarpur 227, Bathinda 115, Gurdaspur 74, Kapurthala 359, SBS Nagar 70, Pathankot 35, Sangrur 98, Ferozpur 132, Ropar 74, Faridkot 145, Fazilka 8, Muktsar 10, FG Sahib 67, Moga 19, Mansa 23, and Barnala 56. Second wave of coronavirus: The number of coronavirus cases in Punjab increased to 2,76,223 after highest single-day spike of COVID-19. Meanwhile, the state reported 52 new deaths due to COVID-19 taking the toll of 7,559. Amritsar reported 8 new deaths while Faridkot recorded 2, FG Sahib 1, Fazilka 1, Ferozpur 1, Gurdaspur 5, Hoshiarpur 8, Jalandhar 5, Kapurthala 3, Ludhiana 5, SAS Nagar 1, Muktsar 1, Pathankot 2, Patiala 5, Ropar 2, SBS Nagar 1, and Tarn Taran 1.
