Punjab records more recoveries than new coronavirus cases in a day
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 43,284 after 1,516 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department on Monday evening, the death toll in the state due to COVID-19 has increased to 1,129 after 43 new deaths were reported from the state. The total number of recoveries in the state stands at 28,357 after 1829 patients were recovered on Monday. Among new recoveries, Ludhiana reported 507, Jalandhar reported 232, Patiala 294, Amritsar 22, Mohali 167, Bathinda 165, Gurdaspur 35, Ferozepur 21, Moga 64, Hoshiarpur 11, Pathankot 25, Barnala 18, Fatehgarh Sahib 64, Kapurthala 41, Faridkot 93, Tarn Taran 18, Fazilka 8, SBS Nagar 17, Muktsar 25, and Mansa 02. Among the new deaths, Amritsar reported 1, Fatehgarh Sahib 1, Fazilka 1, Gurdaspur 4, Jalandhar 6, Kapurthala 3, Ludhiana 11, Mansa 3, SAS Nagar 8, SBS Nagar 1, Patiala 3, and Sangrur 1. 51 COVID patients are critical and on ventilator support. A total of 414 COVID patients are on oxygen support. 27 new patients have been admitted to the ICU that includes 25 from Jalandhar and 2 from Gurdaspur. The active cases in worst-affected districts Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Amritsar, and Mohali are 2372, 1843, 1359, 570, and 1517, respectively. -PTC News
