Three family members have been tested positive for coronavirus in Phillaur, Jalandhar, on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 26. Earlier on Monday, two cases were reported, one each from Mohali and Nawanshahr.
Punjab has reported one death so far. He was identified as Baldev Singh, who died of heart attack in Banga Civil hospital, later tested positive. He contracted his family with the pandemic and seven other individuals.
Curfew in Punjab
Punjab Government on Monday imposed curfew in the state in an order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. He reviewed situation with Chief Secretary and DGP Punjab Police. Likewise, he announced full curfew with no relaxations. Afterwards, the DCs were asked to issue orders accordingly. As per the orders, any person required to be given relaxation will be so allowed specifically for given period and purpose.
He further said that "Entire world is under threat of COVID 19 and we in Punjab are no different. Difficult times call for difficult decisions. Hence for the good of everyone, curfew has been imposed. We have already taken necessary steps to help elderly and underprivileged. All must adhere and cooperate."

Mohali administration orders relaxation from curfew
Amid curfew orders by the Punjab government, Mohali administration announced to provide relief to the locals. Starting Tuesday evening, one of the family member can go out to purchase medicine, food, milk, etc, from pm to pm. Similarly, locals will be given relaxation from am to am for the same, from Wednesday onwards.
