Man with no travel history tests positive for coronavirus in Patiala
Punjab: Patiala district on Saturday reported second coronavirus case after man, said to be a gardener at the residence of a PCS officer, tested positive for the pandemic. As per the report, the gardener, who has been staying in the servant quarters of the officer's residence, has been taken to the isolation ward of the Rajindra hospital. Meanwhile, the health department has taken samples of his wife and children. As per the sources, he had been working at the houses of several other officers as well. Reportedly, the gardener was asymptomatic. He has no travel history and didn’t have any close contacts with suspected coronavirus cases. Likewise, his brother, who is a cook at the residence of a noted doctor couple in Patiala, is also being quarantined. His sample had also been taken. The sources revealed that the man was staying with two more people-- his brother and a hotel employee. Similarly, they have also been kept under observation. The doctor couple, who are on emergency duty owing to the coronavirus pandemic, is yet to be isolated. The Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra stated that the PCS officer and his close aides have been quarantined and would be tested.
