PM Modi shares Atal Bihari Vajpayee's famous poem to remind people to light diyas on Sunday night
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video of BJP veteran Atal Bihari Vajpayee reciting his famous poem, to remind people to light up Candles/Diyas/lamps on Sunday night to challenge coronavirus.
"Aao diya jalayen" (come, let's light the lamp), PM Modi said in a tweet. "Aao phir se diya jalayen" is an iconic poem by the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In a video shared by the prime minister, Vajpayee is seen reciting the poem from a stage.

PM Narendra Modi had on Friday urged people to turn off the lights at their homes and light up lamps, candles or mobile phone torches for at least nine minutes at 9 pm on April 5 to show the country's "collective resolve" to defeat the novel coronavirus. In a video message, PM Modi said that "In the darkness spread by the Coronavirus pandemic, we need to resolve to keep moving towards light and hope."
He also stated that "Don't go out on the streets, do it only from the doors or balconies of your house. Maintain social-distancing, don't break it under any circumstance." "There is no other force greater than the spirit of our enthusiasm," he added. He further said that "We are all together in the battle against Coronavirus, we must understand the strength of the unit."

He also said that "Today when crores of people are inside homes, then some of us may think how will they fight this battle against coronavirus alone. Such questions might come up in your mind? But please remember, none of us is alone. The strength of 130 crores of Indians is with each one of us."
